Winn Parish Sheriff's Office operates the Winn Parish Detention Center where both Winn Parish detainees, as well as a small number of inmates for the Louisiana Department of Corrections are held. In 2018 our new facility located on Thomas Mill Road in Winnfield was opened and replaced the aging facility located on the third floor of the Winn Parish Courthouse.
Individuals who are wishing to visit inmates at the Winn Parish Detention Center may do so during visitation hours at the facility, and it will be done through a video visitation system at the facility. There will not be any physical contact between visitors and inmates.
At this time, no packages are being accepted by the Winn Parish Detention Center for inmates. Items which inmates may need, and are allowed to have, are available for the inmate to purchase through their commissary. Information for providing money for an inmate to use will be below.
If you wish to give an inmate money for them to use for phone cards or other items available to them through their commissary, there are a couple of ways in which this may be done. You may do so in person at the Winn Parish Courthouse inside the Sheriff's Office during normal business hours, or may use the online portal for TigerDeposits.
Once on TigerDeposits, select "Web Deposits", then search for the inmate you wish to deposit money for and follow the directions on the screen.
If you wish to visit an inmate housed at the Winn Parish Detention Center, you may come to the facility on the following dates. Visitation will be conducted over a video system at the facility.
When you come to the detention center to visit, please bring a photo ID with you. The inmate you wish to visit must also add you to their visitation list. Please dress appropriately and follow all directions of jail staff while at our facility.
Letters may be mailed to inmates housed at the Winn Parish Detention Center at any time. Please take note that all incoming mail to all inmates is screened prior to being copied and then delivered to the inmate as per agency policy, so please keep this in mind when sending letters to an inmate.
Absolutely no packages will be accepted for inmates. Many items, including a variety of hygiene items may be purchased through commissary by the inmate. Money for these items may be deposited into the inmates account at Tiger Deposits via the link above or in person at the Winn Parish Sheriff's Office inside the Winn Parish Courthouse.
